Whistle Stop Estates
Phase II of the Successful Whistlestop Farms Development
The Estate section consists of four building lots on approximately 14 acres of beautiful green space. Each home will have its own driveways, some close to 600′ in length. Views of the wooded areas, grassed areas and a beautiful pond dominate the property.
Having never been developed, each lot is an open canvas for prospective buyer’s to create their own estate and custom home. Included in this offering set on 5 acres of property is the original stone home which became the Cobblestone Inn at some point in its past. The house is being remodeled and updated as a “guest house” adjacent to the new main house on the property.
History of Whistle Stop
Located in Westford Massachusetts this property has been in the same family for over three generations! Located on Groton Road and Loon Extension, the property is over 18 total acres of land. “Whistle Stop” name was developed after researching the history of the property:
Three generations ago, Westford was a destination for families living in Boston for vacationing on one of Westford’s many lakes. During that time period, the railroad was extended through the rear of this property. The house on #427, known as the “stone house”, was constructed by the railroad as a ticket station. Further down the Groton Road, there was a similar house with stables, constructed to hold people’s horses and repair their carriages when they visited the area.
The property is nicely wooded with a beautiful small pond adjacent to the stone house. The topography is a gentle slope from Groton Road to the rear of the property. The railroad bed was removed quite some time ago and now is a path leading to the adjacent subdivision and to the adjacent Lake.
